A matching multi-layer production cel and background setup from the Marvel Studios animated series "X-Men" (1992-1997). Featuring Gambit and Rogue in their street attire while visiting Jean Grey in the hospital, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. Both pieces create an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the season three episode "The Phoenix Saga, Part III: Cry of the Banshee," which aired on September 7, 1994. Measuring 10"x14" overall, with the character image measuring 8"x10.5" on a 10.5"x12.5" cel, the pieces are in very good condition. The cel displays light scratches, surface wear, minor line fade, and paper transfer to the reverse of the paint from studio storage. The background shows minimal edge and corner wear. Also included is a matching production drawing of Rogue with a small torn right corner.
