A character concept drawing from the Disney Studios animated musical masterpiece, "Fantasia" (1940). Featuring a beautiful illustration of a centaurette, the drawing has been trimmed to image and applied to a piece of celluloid. The concept was created at the studio and used during the early development process. The piece was likely used to get an idea of the scale and style of the character when placed over the concept backgrounds created for the sequence. Measuring 5"x2.5", the illustration is in good condition with pin holes in the corners of the 10"x12.25" cel. The cel itself appears to also be from the production as it is very aged with rippling throughout, a significant piece of celluloid missing on the bottom right, and the cel is delicate and flaking due to age.
